The favorable location on the Rhine is key to the economic success of the region. The well-developed infrastructure surrounding the federal waterway with links to the Duesseldorf and Cologne/Bonn airports and the A3, A46 and A57 freeways is a positive location factor.
The region in and around the state capital Duesseldorf also has a lot to offer in terms of culture. It is well known for its distinctive art and culture scene and presents major modern German art collections in museums such as the Kunstsammlung NRW or the Museum Kunstpalast.
