• Netherlands-based Remafixx has opened a subsidiary in Geldern in the Lower Rhine region. Remafixx sells coatings, paint and related materials.
• With the opening of an office in Düsseldorf the State Bank of India - India's biggest commercial bank - has settled to North Rhine-Westphalia. The State Bank of India plays a most important role in the financing of trade between Germany and India.
• Japan-based Epson has opened a new industry solutions center in Meerbusch. The center will serve as showroom for new technologies and solutions in printing and robotics for industrial clients.
• German car manufacturer Audi establishes its biggest CKD-export-location for exports to China and India at the logport harbour in Duisburg. The investment volume is about EUR 25 million, 500 new jobs are being created.
• Virginia-based packaging company MeadWestvaco Corporation is investing US-$ 7,5 million in the expansion of its pharmaceutical manufacturing centre of excellence based in Hemer.
• Danish logistics service provider DSV concentrates its activities in a new facility in Krefeld. DSV invests about EUR 60 million, more than 500 jobs are being created.
• US-american multi-technology group 3M invests about EUR 10.5 million into its production facility at Kamen. 15 new jobs are being created in line with this expansion of the production capacity of medical products.
• German chemical group Henkel invests EUR 35 million to build a new warehouse at its Düsseldorf location to supply whole Germany as well as adjacent countries with their products such as cleaning agents.
• German Honold Logistics Group establishes a 44,000 m² sized logistics distribution facility on the cross-border German-Dutch business park ‘Avantis’ near Aachen. About 100 new jobs will be created.
• Japan-based Shimadzu, leading manufacturer of analytical instrumentation, has created a new Laboratory World at its Duisburg site and invested EUR 3.2 million in the expansion of its laboratory and training facilities. 25 new jobs have been created.
• Finland based chemical company Kemira has begun with the construction of a new plant in Dormagen. The company invests in total about EUR 40 million, 15 new jobs are being created.
• Yusen Logistics, subsidiary of Japan-based Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha, expands for fifth time its logistics operations in the Port of Duisburg. The company establishes a new 26,000 sq m logistics complex.
• NRW-based Bayer group enlarges its competences at its Wuppertal location with the opening of a new cell biology technical centre. The company invests EUR 35 million into the facility in which 20 scientists will be working.
• The Indian industrial group Rain Commodities has agreed to buy German chemical company Rütgers for EUR 702 million. Rütgers runs a coal tar distilling plant in Castrop Rauxel with a capacity of 500.000 t.
• Deutsche Bahn is investing around EUR 200 million in a new facility for the maintenance of ICE high speed trains. The operations will start in 2017, up to 400 new jobs are being created.
• The pharmaceutical group Boehringer Ingelheim expands its production capacity in Dortmund. The group invests EUR 85 million to satisfy the increasing demand of its respimat products. About 100 new jobs are being created.
• German mechanical and plant engineering company Turck has opened its new 13.500 m² sized production facility in Halver. With an investment of about EUR 15 million the company concentrates its activities at the new location.
• German chemical manufacturing company Henkel expands its activities at its main factory premises in Düsseldorf. As part of a new logistics concept Henkel invests EUR 35 million in a new distribution centre.
• Dutch based AkzoNobel, leading global paint and coatings company, establishes a new 10.000 m² sized logistics facility in Viersen. An integrated retail warehouse serves the regional market.
• German logistics service provider Schenker establishes a new distribution centre on a 45.000 m² sized site at the new developed logistics park Westfalenhütte in Dortmund. The investment volume of the project is about EUR 20 million.
