Thielenhaus Technologies: Market Leader in microfinish surface processing
The Smoothest Surfaces From Wuppertal Source: Thielenhaus Technologies GmbH
What do industrial ball and roller bearings have in common with the cutter heads in electrical shavers and crankshafts, and fuel injection technology in automobiles? Exceptionally smooth surfaces are key to all three applications. All parts rotating under heavy load, with spinning or sealing functions, rely on surface properties for longevity and energy consumption. With precisely this in mind, Thielenhaus Technologies, a company with a long tradition, develops machinery for precision tools that employ the so-called micro-finishing process, allowing smooth surfaces to be created with dimensional/shape accuracies lower than one ten thousandth of a millimetre. This makes the company founded in 1909, in Wuppertal-Barmen, the global market leader in micro-finishing and a much sought-after specialist both in industry and in medical engineering. After all, artificial hip joints also benefit from the micro-finished surfaces made in Wuppertal, which give them a higher load-carrying capacity and longer life.
