NRW.INVEST – Economic development agency
The state-owned economic development agency NRW.INVEST conducts international marketing for Germany's No. 1 investment location, North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW). In doing so, it campaigns worldwide for foreign direct investments for NRW. Besides subsidiaries in Japan and the USA, NRW.INVEST operates branch offices in China, India, Korea, Polen, Russia and Turkey. With its international representations and the head office in Düsseldorf NRW.INVEST supports companies with investment projects or business locations in North Rhine-Westphalia. Today there are already about 18,000 foreign firms based in Germany's economically most important federal state.

In addition, the experts at NRW.INVEST are at hand with advice on tax and legal aspects as well as details regarding economic structure and industry clusters. They analyze investment plans and offer suitable commercial and industrial sites in North Rhine-Westphalia. As a state-owned economic development agency NRW.INVEST provides its services to companies from Germany and abroad. Based in the state capital Düsseldorf, NRW.INVEST GmbH was established in 1960. Sole owner is the state government of North Rhine-Westphalia, represented by the Minister for Economic Affairs.

Japanese Business Day 2016 will take place on Monday, 23 May 2016 at the InterContinental, Düsseldorf. This year's theme is "Industry 4.0 and Digital Transformation - Utopia or Reality? New business models for German and Japanese companies". It will highlight trends, innovations in Germany, NRW and Japan as well as cooperation opportunities.
Developed in Japan, the health drink Yakult is considered to be the oldest probiotic drink in the world. Since 1996, the Japanese company has been based with a sales and marketing company in Neuss, from where it controls its German business operations.
