NRW.Global Business Award
Investors stimulate the economy, create jobs, strenghten innovation impetus and bring new products, services and processes to NRW. In doing so, they make a decisive contribution to the competitiveness of North Rhine-Westphalia. NRW.Global Business honors exemplary investments in NRW with the NRW.Global Business Award. At the same time, this acknowledgement is extended symbolically to all investors who have opted for NRW as their business location.
Over the years since its inception, the NRW.Global Business Award has gone to either an individual company or several companies for their exemplary commitment to NRW and their contribution to the economic development of the state.
And the award goes to ...?
The red carpet is rolled out for NRW's foreign trade: Four companies could look forward to the AWARD 2021 – and each one has its own unique success story: Whether it's the Chinese technology giant Xiaomi, who launched its first German sales office in Düsseldorf in 2019 and opened its first Mi Store in the state capital.
Or 2G Energy, the company from Heek in the Münsterland region manufactures combined heat and power units for decentralized energy supply by means of cogeneration. Founded in 2005, 2G Energy has been pursuing a sustainable international expansion strategy for many years
All the prize winners enrich the location with their expertise and technologies, creating new jobs and increasing the innovative strength of North Rhine-Westphalia. One of them is the Japanese automotive supplier Marelli. Since the end of 2020, the company has established a new production facility for electric vehicle drives on the Ford factory premises in Cologne. On an area of 18,000 square meters, they produce 800-volt electric motors for vehicle manufacturers in Germany.
With Enapter from Thailand, a specialist for hydrogen technology is also among the winners. Enapter is building a mass production facility for highly efficient hydrogen generators based on anion exchange membrane (AEM) technology in Saerbeck, Germany. In the future, modular systems for the production of green hydrogen will be manufactured and refined at the "Enapter Campus".
