British market research company Euromonitor International opens branch in Düsseldorf

The British company Euromonitor International, a specialist in the field of strategic market analysis headquartered in London, is today inaugurating its new European Regional Office for Germany and Austria in Düsseldorf. Following Vilnius in Lithuania, this is only the second office on the European continent for the globally active company. In the selection process, Düsseldorf was able to hold its own against its competitors Munich, Hamburg, Frankfurt and Geneva. Currently, 35 jobs are being created at the location; in the long term, an increase to 50 employees is planned.

Euromonitor produces internationally comparable statistics on a wide range of consumer goods, services and industrial markets. The company provides its customers with data on the development of market and product sales or consumer trends, in order to support them in their strategic business decisions, for example. Euromonitor is combining the office inauguration with a conference entitled "Germany: Unlocking Opportunities". Experts from the global Euromonitor network will talk to Matthias Bühler, Director Digital Transformation at Metro AG, about how digital technologies can help companies find their way into new markets.

Euromonitor opted for the Düsseldorf location primarily because of the large market potential in NRW, its proximity to customers and its central position with rapid connections within Germany and Europe. "With our new office, we want to establish more intensive relationships with our customers in the (German-speaking) DACH region. We already generate a third of our sales in Germany with clients from NRW, from where Euromonitor has excellent opportunities for further growth," says William Henderson, Head of Sales and General Manager Germany at Euromonitor International. For this reason, the decision to establish a branch in Germany had already been made well before the Brexit referendum in the United Kingdom and was not conditional on this.

It was not only numbers and hard facts, but also soft location factors that convinced the market researchers of the Düsseldorf's suitability. "Düsseldorf is a lively city with a very international flair. This fits perfectly with Euromonitor's open, multicultural corporate philosophy. People from all over the world work together at Euromonitor. With so many universities nearby, we also benefit from a large talent pool, so we won't have any trouble finding new talent," says Henderson.

"For decades, British investors have valued NRW as a diverse business location and guarantor of growth in Germany and Europe. In particular, company-oriented services, which also include the market research sector, find a broad customer base here and, as partners to industry, also contribute a great deal to innovation and value creation," explains Petra Wassner, CEO of NRW.INVEST.
